Easter Schedule

27 03 2012

If you missed our meeting on March 26th, read on to hear about our schedule of activities during the weeks before and after Easter:

Monday, April 2nd – SEDER MEAL 6:30-8pm (instead of the usual Youth Group meeting from 7-9). This meeting includes a light dinner. If you are a reader for the Seder Meal, you need to arrive at 6pm.

Monday, April 2nd – PASSION MIME REHEARSAL – 8-9pm. This is an annual performance we do of the Passion of Christ (the events leading up to and including the Crucifixion). The parishioners love to see this! You can participate either as one of the mime performers (wearing mime makeup) or as a member of the crowd. We will have rehearsals on Monday and Wednesday, and then practice and perform in the church on Good Friday.

Wednesday, April 4th – PASSION MIME REHEARSAL 5-7pm. In the church.

Friday, April 6th – Good Friday – PASSION MIME PERFORMANCE 11am-3pm. We practice in the church at 11am, and then move to the social area to prepare for the performance at 2:30. You’ll be done by 2:45 or 3pm.

Monday, April 9th – NO YOUTH GROUP – this is Spring Break week, so we don’t have any meetings or activities.

Sunday, April 15th – Parish Volunteer Mass & Reception – 12:30 Mass. Anyone who volunteers within the parish (which includes many teens!) is invited to attend this Mass and Reception following as a thank you for their service. Teens are encouraged to attend.

Monday, April 16th – Youth Group 7-9pm. Regular Monday Youth Group meetings resume.

12 03 2012

We hope you can join us for Youth Group tonight from 7-9pm in the Youth Center! We have a bunch of sign ups and new info for you. Tonight we’ll start talking about our Appalachia Mission Trip and have registration packets available. This trip fills up fast so be sure to get a packet tonight if you’re interested. We are also signing people up for all our Easter activities, including the Easter Egg Hunt, Seder Meal, and Passion Mime. Please stop by and sign up!

Remember, please continue to work on getting donations and golfers for the Golf Outing coming up in May! It’s our biggest fundraiser of the year and will help keep the prices you pay for events down.

Come to Youth Group tonight for info on some new upcoming events!

5 03 2012

Hello everyone! We hope you can join us at Youth Group tonight from 7-9pm. We will have some info on some new events coming up that we can’t wait to share with you. One thing we especially want to tell you about is our Coffee House, happening on March 16th. This event will have live music and refreshments, and we can’t wait to give you the details. Join us tonight to find out more!

Also due tonight are permission slips for the Lock In happening at St. John Neumann this Friday night. You must turn in your permission slip and $5 tonight, so print it from the permission slip page if you need another copy.

We’ll see you tonight!

No Youth Group tonight, but permission slips are due!

20 02 2012

Hi everyone,

Just a few reminders… Remember that we DON’T have Youth Group tonight!

** Permission slips for the 30 Hour Famine are officially due THIS WEDNESDAY, Feb. 22nd. If you can’t get it in then, you MUST call to let us know. Please help us out and let us know if you’re coming – it makes it really hard to plan events when we don’t know how many people will be attending. We will be ordering the tshirts on Thursday. Permission slips are available on the permission slip page.

** We have a Golf Outing Donation day THIS WEDNESDAY from 3-5pm. If you’re looking to attend a more expensive event like Spring Retreat, Appalachia, PMT, Ecuador, or WYD, this is a great way to begin fundraising. A permission slip is required and is available on the permission slip page.

** We are going to the Soup Kitchen this Saturday from 9:30-2. At this point, if you haven’t already turned in a permission slip, you MUST call the office to reserve a spot. We have a limited number of seats available and you have to reserve one over the phone.

If you have any questions about upcoming events please give us a call! Have a great night off and we hope to see you next Monday!

Rainbow this weekend, new permission slips

6 02 2012

We will be taking a group of 35 teens to the Rainbow Conference at the Marriott Hotel in Detroit this weekend, so keep our group in your prayers! If you’re attending Rainbow, you need to be at St. Colette at 6:15am on Saturday. Don’t be late or you’ll hold the whole group up!

We’ve put up some new permission slips on the website, so be sure to check them out – 30 Hour Famine, Soup Kitchen, Girls Only Event, and Guys Only Event.

Golf Outing Paperwork is here!

4 02 2012

Registration and donation forms for our annual Golf Outing fundraiser are here! They can be printed by clicking on the “Golf Outing” link on the right side of the page. Now is the time to get started with getting golfers and donations for this important fundraiser. If you have any questions please call the office at 734-464-1677.

Souper Bowl of Caring this weekend!

4 02 2012

After all Masses this weekend, Feb. 4-5th, we will be collecting money in soup pots as part of the Souper Bowl of Caring. This event happens every year during Super Bowl weekend to focus attention on the fact that while most of us are enjoying the big game with plenty of food, there are many people going hungry every day, even here in the US. All of the money we raise this weekend will be split between 2 local hunger organizations, St. Pat’s Food Pantry, and PB&J Outreach (based out of OLGC in Canton). If we collect just $1 from each parishioner we can raise thousands of dollars to help fight hunger in our own area. Please bring a $1 to church with you this weekend to support this worthy cause!
